RESIDENTS in Taman Putra Prima are desperately seeking intervention from the Sepang Municipal
Council (MPSp) to find a solution to the problems along the main road to the housing area.

Taman Putra Prima Rukun Tetangga chairman S. Subramaniam said the residents felt they had put
up with the problems for too long and the situation was worsening with time.

“We have been complaining for a few years now and the council keeps telling us that they are
seeking help from the state government because the road is at the border of three local
authorities,’’ he said.

He said the road was situated between the jurisdictions of MPSp, the Subang Jaya Municipal
Council and the Kuala Langat District Council and there were development projects in all three
areas.

Subramaniam said the main problems along the road were the large number of heavy vehicles
including lorries carrying earth, sand and dust along the road and potholes.

He said a number of children from Taman Putra Prima and a village nearby, especially secondary
school students, walked over a kilometre to Jalan Puchong to catch a bus to school.

“These children and the public have to put up with the constant dust as they walk along the
main road.

“Most of the problems are caused by the lorries carrying earth in and out of the area and the
local authorities should be able to get together and find a solution,’’ he said.

Subramaniam said the council also needed to look into why the street lights along the main road
that had been erected soon after the housing area was completed had never been turned on.

“The lights along the residential road inside our housing area have also been left unattended as
they stopped functioning one by one. Now over half of them are faulty,'' he said.

MPSp president Azizan Mohamad Sidin said the council had already found a solution by getting
the developer for Taman Saujana Putra that was under Kuala Langat to undertake the maintenance
and clean-up of the main road leading from Jalan Puchong to Taman Putra Prima.

He said the council had been trying its best to solve the problem there but since it concerned
three different local authorities it had taken more time.

“The developer will be responsible for the maintenance and cleaning of the road for two years
from this month and we will monitor the situation to ensure that the work is properly carried
out,’’ he said.
